Know and Love exists to empower both adults and children with resources that deepen understanding within their relationships, leading to a greater sense of connection, well-being and emotional regulation.

As parents ourselves, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and secure environment that schools and families of all ages can trust and enjoy. We do not collect information that directly identifies your child, nor do we use any collected data for marketing or online advertising purposes. You will also notice that our site is free from ads because we believe that kids don't need to be advertised to.

We want our own children protected from targeted marketing and are committed to extending the same level of protection to your children.

We value the trust you have placed in us to make quality educational content that builds adult-child relationships. Sometimes, we may need to collect information about our users and their use of our services to help us achieve that goal.

PRIVACY POLICY
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) describes how we use, share, and protect information that we collect from you and your child, who may be under the age of 13 or 18, through websites, applications, or online services that Know and Love operates or that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy applies to the Services and Products.

What information do we collect?
Our privacy policy complies with Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA).

For School Quiz: there is no PII (personally identifiable information) collected or stored from the School Quiz. The information we collect may include but is not limited to: device information, IP addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, and other technical data collected through cookies and similar technologies.

For Fun Quiz: For users under the age of 13, we implement an age verification process to ensure compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We require parental consent before collecting any personally identifiable information (PII) from children. This consent is obtained by asking parents to provide their email address through which they will receive details about the quiz results and further engaging content from Know and Love.

Collected Information:
Through our contact forms and store, the PII collected includes: your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and any other information you voluntarily provide. For children under 13, we strictly limit the collection of PII to what is necessary to participate in the quiz and activities, primarily collecting only the email address (the latter after obtaining parental consent).

Opt-Out Options:
The second communication email sent to our users provides a clear option to opt out of receiving further communications from us. This ensures that all subscribers, including those under 13 (via their parents), can easily stop receiving content if they choose.

Data Minimization:
We adhere to the principle of minimal data collection, ensuring that only the necessary information required for participation in activities and quizzes is collected. This approach respects the privacy of all our users and is in strict compliance with legal standards for data protection and privacy.

Privacy Practices Transparency:
We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users, especially children. Our privacy policy is designed to provide transparency about how we collect, use, and share personal information. Parents have the right to review the personal information collected from their children and may request the deletion of such information or revoke consent at any time.

We do not collect…
Student education records (and therefore Know and Love is not subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”); Biometric of health data; Information that directly identifies a child (such as name, email address, phone number); or Personal information of a child, unless we endeavor to obtain a parents or legal guardian’s consent or otherwise comply with law.

How do we collect information?
Our 3rd party quiz software is run by TryInteract.com. We may use javascript, cookies, web beacons, and other similar technologies to collect information about you or your child’s use of the Services.

We use these technologies for measurement, analytics, and to improve our Services. You may be able to refuse or disable cookies by adjusting your web browser settings. Because each web browser is different, please consult the instructions provided by your web browser (typically in the “help” section).

How we Use Your Information:

We will not use any personal information collected from children for marketing or online advertising purposes.

Parental Rights
We do not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in taking the quiz. Parents can review their child’s personal information, direct us to delete it, and refuse to allow any further collection or use of a child’s information. Parents can agree to the collection and use of their child’s information, but still not allow disclosure to third parties unless that’s part of the service (for example online classes); and the procedures to follow to exercise their rights.

(17) Delay in Enforcing this Contract
Even if we delay in enforcing this contract, we can still enforce it later. If we do not insist immediately that you do anything you are required to do under these terms, or if we delay in taking steps against you in respect of your breaking this contract, that will not mean that you do not have to do those things and it will not prevent us taking steps against you at a later date. For example, if you miss a payment and we do not chase you but we continue to provide the Products, we can still require you to make the payment at a later date.

(18) Law and Legal Proceedings
These terms are governed by US law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the Products in the US courts. We may however protect our intellectual property rights (IPR) in any country.
